JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for ambitious talent for our beautiful, luxury, hi-rise property in downtown Chicago.  Passion and commitment is what we are looking for. Our consultants should be sales and service minded. Do you want to help someone find their next home? If so, it is a great time to join our team in River North.  The Leasing Consultant reports to the Leasing Director and is responsible for all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins and lease renewals, including generating and handling traffic, leasing apartments, qualifying residents, preparing lease documentation, and assisting with sublets and transfers. They are also coordinating the community's marketing, and leasing strategies to achieve occupancy, revenue, and resident retention goals by performing all activities related to leasing. Leasing Consultants provide high quality resident service and convey resident service requests to the Maintenance Technicians and other service associates. This position is also responsible for complying with all state, federal and/or local laws relating to Fair Housing.  Weekends and evenings will be required. Must be able to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays where needed. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for being a primary contact for residents and prospective residents. While assisting the Leasing Director in gathering and compiling current market and economic information, you will also prepare competitive and market comp reports. Other functions include:

  • Provide excellent service to residents, prospects, vendors, visitors, and other customers. 
  • Accurately enter new lease information into computer system.
  • Possess Mathematical problem solving skills to calculate monthly prorations
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage new and existing lease files.
  • Complete move in and move out functions with residents.
  • Assist current residents and be knowledgeable in sublet and transfer situations.
  • Participate in market surveys and marketing when asked.
  • Receive resident service requests and administer building work orders.
  • Have a positive, friendly, and ambitious attitude, with excellent problem solving, listening, and deductive reasoning skills. 

Qualified candidates should be self-starters with at least 2 years of sales-related experience.  Previous apartment leasing experience with proven, exceptional closing skills preferred.  

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

A strong background in customer service is extremely helpful, as is experience in sales.  Motivated individuals with an excellent attitude and willingness to learn will be given consideration. An assertive and friendly attitude along with the ability to close the sale is a plus. High school diploma required, college degree ideal. Computer literacy in MS Word, e-mail and a familiarity with the Internet required. Experience with Yardi Software and Rent Max is a plus.
