General Purpose of the Job
Plans, coordinates and directs lean manufacturing processes in industrial plant by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
• Manage development and implementation of various programs and/or projects.
• Lead new or modified production process and plant logistics flow improvement initiatives
• Conduct and/or support production feasibility and capacity studies as well as develop/implement countermeasures (c/m’s) as required
• The incumbent may also generate and/or revise CAD plant and process layout’s (ST, WE, MC) as well as evaluate and improve processes considering Quality, Delivery, Safety, Management and Cost.
• Ensure safety process on existing and new equipment.
• Analyses and plans work force utilization, space requirements and work flow, and designs layout of equipment and work space for maximum efficiency.
• Confers with planning and design of staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
• Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Participates in the development of and modification to quality management standards according to TS16949 requirements
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
• Applies statistical and other methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
• Learn, obey and practice the health and safety policies of the company.
• Maintain high level of housekeeping.
• Has the ability to stop production if a safety or quality issue is detected.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned.
• Practices and obeys the environmental, health and safety rules of the company.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and two to four years related experience or equivalent combination of both education and experience required.
• It is also a requirement that the incumbent stay relevant on current legislation, regulations and licenses and maintain a commitment to continuous learning and upgrading skills as required.
• Prefer Six Sigma Green Belt certification or willingness to obtain.
