POSITION:                             FACILITY WORKER (WETLANDS)

 

DEPARTMENT:                    WATER PRODUCTION

 

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Performs custodial and light maintenance tasks, such as, sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, dusting, sanitizing public areas, and vacuuming
  • Assists with upkeep of trails, gardens, and grounds as assigned.
  • Assists with removal of problematic plant species in the garden and wetland area such as privet, olive, honeysuckle, and bittersweet.
  • Provides customer service to visitors while on-site including answering questions about the physical site and enforcing site guidelines when Conservation staff is unavailable,
  • .
  • Assists Newman Wetlands Center and Recreation staff with various operational, maintenance, and courier duties.
  • Keeps Newman Wetlands Center stocked with janitorial supplies.
  • Operates or uses various custodial and maintenance equipment, tools, and supplies to complete work assignments.
  • Communicates with supervisor, other CCWA employees, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.

Additional Functions:

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

 

PAYGRADE:                         12H (starts at $15.303/hour)
