The Job Opportunity - Taper Design Support

We are seeking a Taper Design Support person for an entry-level position working at our Portland location. This position has a wide variety of tasks related to the roofing industry. Under the direction of the Tapered Design Specialist the focus includes reviewing specifications and plans with a commitment to learn how to use Design and Accounting software to facilitate the process from the quote stage to the shipping stages on projects.

 

General Responsibilities

- Review specifications and plans in the on-line plan centers, communicate with roofers and architects on design requirements.
- Take direction from the Tapered Design Specialist to learn to develop accurate layouts, assembly drawings for tapered roofs utilizing design software.
- Create accounting/shipping documents for releases on projects and keep track of materials that go out on jobs with multiple releases.
- Assist purchasing agents at various branches to forecast needs for upcoming projects.

 

Skills & Qualifications

- 2-D CAD experience and experience with construction plans and specs is highly recommended.
- must be precise with good match skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- must be organized and be able to meet deadline
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis and to work extended hours when required
